Rachel's Birthday with U2

Today I sent Rachel a text that read, "Happy Yom Kippur!" She got a pretty good laugh out of it, since today is her 28th birthday.

Her early birthday present to herself was a U2 concert. Jess and I happened to be there too, where we captured some of the fun:

Jess and I got to the show 6 hours early to grab a prime location. We were on a strict, "no fluids rule" all day so we could see the band up close instead of the toilet. It was well worth it...

For the encore, we walked back to get a view of the whole stage. Just an amazing show, visually and musically.

Michael and Lilly

On August 28th, our good friends Nick and Pam welcomed their baby girl, Lilly, into the world. She came in at a hefty 5lbs 15ounces.

Up until we met Lilly we thought Michael was small, not having anyone to compare him to except for babies that were older and bigger. Once we saw Lilly ,we were amazed at how small she is and astonished at how gi-normous Michael is.

Here's his infamous left hook. He has successfully landed a couple of these punches on good ol' mom and dad. Notice he protects his face as he swings. We think the boxing lessons that he is taking are really going to pay off:

(In a Scottish accent) Look at the size of that boy's head. I'm not kidding, its like an orange on a toothpick. Its a virtual planetoid. Has its own weather system. Its like Sputnik, spherical but quite pointy at parts.

(Bob Sheppard's voice) Now batting...Yankees shortstop...number 1....Michael Blankenship...number 1.
