Michael James is Here!

The story of Michael James coming into this world:
On Thursday, June 18th, Jess was scheduled to be induced. Michael was getting "a little" large, Jessica's blood pressure was up, and so it was time. We went in, the doctor started the process, and away she went.

12.5 hours later we we're still waiting. Michael was having some difficulty with the contractions and was in distress. So to keep him safe, the doctor decided he was going to be delivered by c-section.

The bottom line shows the contractions, top one shows Michael's pulse. The drop in heart rate was the concern:

So we said some prayers and they sent us off to the operating room. Later, we found out that there wasn't enough time for Jess to receive a spinal (the appropriate pain meds), so she had to do it with just the epidural...so you know...many nice and pleasant words were spoken in the room that night.

At 1:24am on June 19th, Michael was born, comning in at 9lbs, 22 inches long.

Here is where the sweet video of the c-section would go. Because of the content, I'm told that its not "appropriate" for our family blog. Instead, we have me cutting the umbilical cord as the doctors stitch up Jess in the background:

A thousand different captions could go here. But I'll play it safe.
It's okay folks...the swelling has come down since:

Our little cone head. I think he was ready to come out,
but just couldn't get that huge melon through:

"And now my eyes! Why do you crazy people continue to torture me !!!"

Hey uncle Nick, remember, he's a Yankees fan, okay?

Baby Michael with great-grandpa Michael.

This new thing called "swaddling".
Its what all the cool kids are doing these days.

Jess has always said that she wants a baby before she is 30. Jess turned 30 on June 20th. Michael was born on the 19th. Can't cut it much closer than that.

Planning his attempt to take over the world:

"Oh c'mon! Why would you ever go and cut off a piece of my penis!"

Finally going home:

And some videos to leave you with.

Right before this I swear he said "hi"

  1. I was reading your comment about the circumcision and the words out of my mouth were, "oh my, Brian". (thinking he said it) I'm so used to his comments like that that I forgot it was you saying it! Ha Ha!
